Honoring Michael Reagan and the work of the Fallen Heroes Portrait Project
Wtih the assistance and comitment of State Rep Brad Hill, VFW Post 1093 was able to coordinate a ceremony at the MA State House in Boston which was held on March 5th, 2010.
Members of VFW Post 1093 were joined by representatives of American Legion Post 80 and the PLAV Post 92 as audience members and color guard participants.
Representative Hill hosted the event and welcomed a number of family members of Fallen Heroes whose portraits Michael Reagan had drawn. A number of the family members spoke to the gathering, recounting the comfort which the portraits brought, and the grace and care with which Michael Reagan approached the project. As they spoke most held the cherished portraits which Michael had drawn of their fallen hero.
Various dignetaries spoke at the event including the MA Secretary of Veterans' Services and MOH winner Thomas Kelley.
At the conclusion of the moving ceremony Rep Hill offered private tours of the legislative chambers and family members and attendees had the opportunity to have photos taken by the official State House photographer to commemorate the event.
