VFW Post 1093 is like many VFW Posts. The VFW in turn is like many veterans organizations. Our biggest challenge is recruiting new members. Common misconceptions are well known:
- Just a barroom
- Members are too old
- It doesn't help the community
- I'm too busy
- etc.
We all know them well. And many posts, like Post 1093 have undertaken recent veteran outreach initiatives and active involvement in the community. We have a great story to tell, but we need to connect with potential veterans.
So in keeping with the vigor and leadership for which Post 1093 is known we are undertaking a contest which we believe will generate broad interest. We are soliciting suggestions for ways to identify new potential members and introduce them to the VFW. We will be happy to share the list which we collect with other veterans organizations which share similar ideals of service to veterans, their families and the community. We will announce winners at the conclusion of the contest and will provide instructions on how to request the list.

Contest Details
- All decisions will be made by Post 1093 and will be final and binding
- We must receive at least 150 suggestions in order for the contest to be completed
- Prizes will not be awarded if the minimum of 150 suggestions are not received
- 1st place winner will receive their choice of a New England lobster meal for two and a 6 pack of USDA Prime NY Strip Steaks. 2nd place winner will receive the remaining prize
- Winners must provide physical address for courier shipment of prize. We will be responsible for order the shipment to the provided address
- Suggestions will be made available to other posts
- Suggestions submitted without the name, email and cell # are not eligible to win
- Contest will run until 31 March 2012
